TAX VALUES SLIPPING - The sluggish economy took its toll on tax values in Wise County this year.

DAMAGING STORMS - Waves of strong thunderstorms swept through Wise County Wednesday evening, bringing heavy rain, wind, hail and even reports of tornado touchdowns.

MURDER MAY HAVE TAKEN PLACE ON SATURDAY - Investigators believe Nancy Heithecker may have been killed by her son in their home Saturday.

Officers were called to a home on County Road 4270 in Decatur about 6:30 p.m. to check on the welfare of Nancy Heithecker.

The Wise County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a Decatur woman, and her son is being detained for questioning in the case.

A Decatur teenager was flown to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth early Saturday morning following a wreck in the Decatur Acres neighborhood south of Decatur.
