Pending appraisal, county will buy Winchester Street parcel for $1.1 million as new jail site

It appears the proposed new Adams County jail may finally have found a home. The Adams County Council and the Adams County Commissioners met in executive session Monday morning to discuss the possibility of purchasing a 162-acre tract of unimproved farmland on the south side of Decatur along Winchester Street.

Police ask for help finding missing teens

They were last seen around 5 a.m. in Decatur on Saturday. The missing juveniles are: Addie R. Elzey, 14, Justin W. Carr, 15, and Ashley L. Carr, 14. They are believed to be with Jeremiah C. King, 18. Anyone with any information about where they might be is asked to call the Decatur Police Department at 724-8646.
