Dayton Police use TASER on a BLIND Woman

FIRST of all this headline was very disappointing to me. I was all excited untill i read the artical...... It isn't dayton, big disappointment there but i did think they would be dumb enough to do that. give it time........ they will.

It took a Rhea County jury less than an hour Monday to convict former Rhea County constable and sheriff's candidate Roy Denton of DUI by allowance and public intoxication.
Denton, 40, and Jean Mayrand, 57, also of Graysville, were arrested at about 2:30 when Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Phillip Dunn stopped their car on Rhea County Highway near Davis Floor Coverings Denton, who served as Rhea County constable from 1994 to 1998 and was a Republican candidate for sheriff in 1998, served as his own attorney during the daylong trial.

First let me say I do not agree with all the negative talk about The Dayton Police Department. There are some good police officers there and they do an outstanding job. I have had to call the Dayton Police and let me tell you, they are so much better than Chattanooga City..good grief. Second you will always have some that do some crazy things and in this video, this is crazy. Now I know police have training but where is common sense. In the video it said they had a warrant on her son and she said he wasnt there.End of story unless they have a search warrant. They were not there on a call,just a warrant. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong but when she said he wasnt there then shouldnt that have been the end of it? Thanks and please let me know if I am wrong.

I was recently reading some comments at the website Topix and one word kept coming to my mind as I read the comments of someone
with the pen/screen name “Truth uncovered”, the word ‘empathy’. Empathy is
basically the ability to, for instance,‘put yourself in someone else’s shoes’, being
able to relate to how they feel about a situation and being sensitive to it. I read this person’s comments about the Dentons and just wondered what this person has against them? What
had the Dentons done directly to this person to make them strike out against the
Dentons. Basically it is my opinion that this person does not
like the Dentons or anyone for that matter who would “speak out” and not take
being mistreated lightly. The Dentons are guilty of nothing other than sticking up for
themselves and defending themselves when the Dayton City Police or the council
would not help them. The people in Rhea County/Dayton in power positions do not
like the people who know what their rights are and have the courage to stand up
against them and speak out about it. I believe perhaps, that is the real motivation for
this “Truth uncovered” comments in Topix.
What this insensitive person failed to do amidst their comments, smirks, sniffs, and
chuckles was to tell the whole story. This person gave no factual statements to
prove the Dentons were unjust in their complaints. In fact, this person failed to also
comment on the Sunday, October 15th, 2006 issue of the Herald-News where the
one person that committed the crime against the Dentons was indicted. This one
criminal was indicted on criminal charges, not civil. Perhaps this “Truth uncovered”
person should simply go to the courthouse and refer to the case itself where it also
will show for “public record” that the Dentons received “full restitution” for the
criminal act upon them. The person indicted of this crime had to pay full restitution
or go to jail on criminal charges of theft.
“Truth uncovered”, you lack empathy, sympathy, and most of all, you lack full
knowledge of the incident you freely commented on. You also failed in making any
legitimate point backed by facts. In the end, The Dentons got their money back from
the man that faced jail time on criminal charges if he did not pay restitution.
Therefore your comments do not bother the Dentons. But as for me, well, your
comment motivated me to make a comment, a comment that is filled with facts and
legitimacy. Yours were taken strictly from “The Herald-News”. Your comments are
disappointingly another reminder of why I do not like a lot of people that are like YOU
in Dayton.
Before I end my little thought for the day, I wanted to let you know that your
comments will not affect the Dentons either way because this is old news to them.
They have long put this behind them because they received restitution and moved
on. Forgive them if they are fully aware of how Dayton is run, based on personal
experience, and do not like it.
Therefore, they have the guts to speak their opinions and they do it without
complaining anonymously. The snide remarks, criticisms, and insensitive humor
you covered your comments with does not hurt or bother them in anyway.
So what is the reason I wrote this?
I just wanted to make sure that you know, you do not anger, frustrate, or hurt their
feelings. You and your comments simply mean nothing. One further note to Truth Uncovered, you can spell, and write complete sentences, but I still say you lack compassion for other people with troubles. Also, you have no consideration for others who give there opinion. Seems to me you feel free to condemn and criticize others because somehow you feel superior. Your lack of consideration for other's exercising their right to express themselves, just as you do, shows how seriously immature, inconsiderate, and maybe educated, but still rude. Thanks to those of you who can comment without making it a personal attack.

I have always pretty much figured things to be like this...EVERYTHING IS BASICALLY EQUAL. Sure, I may mis-spell words but others may mispronounce them. I think light cannot exist without darkness, and vice versa. We have good, bad... smart, dumb...white, black...positive, negative, and the list of contrasts go on and on and on. Of ALL the things that any person has ever said about anything I have ever done, spoke or written, never once have I been denounced or impeached as a liar. Sure, people may generically spout the word "liar" out to me, but nonetheless, they never offer any proof or showing to the contrary, nor have they NEVER said it to my face. It isn't my fault that Sneed is mad because he wants his cake and eat it too. I have sat by the wayside for years and watched him as well as others prosper and thrive in a poverty stricken town but once "Opie" pointed his finger at my wife, calling her a liar and making her cry...along with Darrell Bell using his brutness in showing how big of a man he was in the good ole Rhea County styled fashion, by bulldogging on someone weaker, especially the woman of a person once called "friend" then I consider him to be a Judas. My whole life has basically had 3 criteria for people I choose to associate with and those I choose to not. I detest those that lie to me, steal from me and those that betray me. Like I say, a Judas. Playtime is over and I have pretty much figured that my home of 47 years was and is, no longer my home. In that regard, I have already lost. So, call it jealousy, call it revenge or call it a mind full of knowledge with the balls to stand up and say it and even affix my name to it but I have no intent of letting up. As with the Mountain Morning News, the Herald-News, TV and radio stations and now www.RheaCountyNewspaper.com I can grind away daily at the foundation of what I deem to be a group of cheaters that do not like having to notice people as they look at them NOW in a much different light. I have done it in the past and consider myself very good at it and over the years have grown much mellower as well as wiser.
