Fire danger in Douglas County leads to restrictions on private, public forestland
The Woods Creek fire near Days Creek started with a lightning strike early in the morning of July 2. The restrictions go into effect at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday for all private, county, state and U.S. Bureau of Land Management lands protected by the Douglas Forest Protective Association .
Lightning sparks new wildfires in Oregon
"This morning we had a lightning storm travel the full length of the district and drop about 100 strikes, some storms with moisture," said Melvin Thornton with the Douglas Forest Protective Association.
