For the third straight season, Davenport's cross country teams begin their season down the Beltline at Calvin College for the Knight Invitational. The Panther women will start the day off with the 5K run at 10 a.m. with the men's 8K race 45 minutes later.

Judge to sentence cancer patient in marijuana case

A judge will consider Tuesday whether to send a dying Iowa man to prison for a drug conviction that he said stemmed from his use of marijuana to treat terminal cancer. Benton Mackenzie, 48, has said that he faces a minimum sentence of three years in prison on a conviction that has outraged advocates of medical marijuana.
