What an absolute horror. Why do some people think it's ok to get behind the wheel when intoxicated? Now a child is fatherless, a family destroyed. So sad and unnecessary.

I hope she goes away for a long time. Who is drunk at 2 on a Sunday afternoon, let alone killing someone right in front of their family, what a waste of life!

Hang her.

She knew better than drive drunk, and even drunk, there is no reason to cross the center line. She is a very stupid, selfish w(B)itch.

So sorry for the family of the victim.

Make her watch a video of the funeral over and over again..the pain, the grief...also show her pictures of the motorcyclist with his family before he died and then the morgue shots. Make her suffer in every way.

This is horrible and sad beyond comprehension. I do not drink at all, anymore, but I have to say that by the grace of ? that could just about be any one of us, on either side. If anybody reading this article does drink, and believes they are above making such a bad decision, think again. I'm in NO WAY justifying anything I'm just saying to put this tragedy at the front of your mind and remember it the next time you are considering driving because you're "just a little buzzed". That way all of these peoples lives may not have been destroyed in vain.

Some of us drink yet never drive after drinking, so no, that couldn't be just about any one of us as the drunk driver.

I wonder who the pot belonged to - my money's on the driver of the van.

SCM Native, the van hit the car behind the motorcycle which was the BMW. Terrible to watch your husband get killed in front of your eyes.

Regardless who the pot belonged to it shows that booze and pot can be a possibly deadly combination. An unnecessary tragedy that many will live with the rest of their lives.

I am sickened by this. I was minutes behind this accident - I stopped for something before leaving. This could have been ANY OF US. People need to THINK about the consequences of their actions!! My thoughts are with this family as they deal with their grief and my heart goes out to a child that will never know their father.

I'm so deeply saddened; these tragedies just seem to continue despite all the efforts to prevent them; I'm sure all the publicity and education prevents some of the potential collisions from happening, but still, too many are occurring.

Thanks to the CHP and other law enforcement agencies for doing all they can to educate and enforce the existing laws. We've come a long way, but we need to do more. These kinds of tragedies need to stop. My deepest sympathy to the family.

Daily Horoscope for January 3

Cancer

No one can accuse you of being a wallflower today! The modern cowboy or cowgirl has a tendency to shoot from the lip and you won't be afraid to tell it like it is. Your response will be quick, and your timing near perfect. If you don't accomplish what you set out to do this morning by the end of the day, it won't be for lack of trying. Getting an 'A' for effort is sometimes better than facing the test.
