Editors of The Claxton Enterprise, over the years, published many accounts of Evans County's history, including that of Claxton and the towns of Bellville, Daisy, and Hagan.

Circa 1916, the individuals are identified: back row, Maggie Glisson , B.E. Smith, and Allie Rogers Strickland; front row, Ann Glisson and Leon C. Smith.

One of Georgia's many unique small towns, Claxton is known throughout the United States and many foreign countries for its fruitcake baking industry.
