Woman, 83, dies in Upper Peninsula house fire
An 84-year-old woman is dead following a house fire in the Upper Peninsula.
State Police at the Stephenson post identify the victim of the Friday morning blaze in Menominee County's Daggett Township as Doris Leona King.
The woman's son escaped, while two state troopers who tried to rescue King were forced from the home by fire and smoke. They were treated for smoke inhalation at an area hospital and released.
The State Police Fire Marshal's Office planned to investigate. Read more
