The Moyock Volunteer Fire Department was called to the Currituck Grain Company in the 400 block of Caratoke Highway at about 5 p.m. today for the collapsed silo.

A grain silo located on Battlefield Blvd. in Currituck, N.C. has collapsed across the Norfolk Southern Railway line in that area, according to eyewitnesses on the scene.

Yesterday we had some scattered showers and storms as expected. Some of the rain was heavy at times.

Fire units from Corova Beach, Corolla, Duck and Currituck responded to the area of Mile Post 22 around 4:45 a.m. to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the two homes.
