Hernando man takes open plea to end his kidnapping, sex cases
Kermit Alexander was looking at life sentences in both his kidnapping and sexual battery cases, but the 53-year-old Hernando man took a plea offer that might catch him a break. Alexander pleaded no contest to his three felony cases during his Tuesday morning court hearing, in exchange for a sentence from Circuit Court Judge Richard "Ric" Howard of up to 40 years in prison at an Oct. 30 hearing, according to court documents.
