Noted Zebra Mussel Researcher returns to Whitefish Chain
On August 28th, Dr. Dan Molloy, nationally known zebra mussel researcher, was back on the Whitefish Chain to evaluate the extent of the zebra mussel invasion. Dr. Molloy, Research Scientist - Adjunct Professor, University at Albany - State University of NY gained prominence when he discovered a bacterium that would kill zebra mussels.

National POW/MIA Recognition Day, September 19th
The President each year sets aside one day to remember the over 80,000 American Service members who remain unaccounted for in the conflicts of the 20th and 21st centuries. Men and women of the Defense Department work around the world to locate and identify the remains of those who did not return from these conflicts.

10th Anniversary MC Ride for Homeless and Wounded Warriors
It is significant to many of the veterans, as what started out as a tight-knit group of 25 veteran motorcyclists raising money to help feed and clothe homeless veterans, has now grown to gain state-wide recognition as one of the premier charity rides in the State of Minnesota, having raised $8,000 last year and over $65,000 over the past 10 years.
