Another fine example of a public employee filing "disability" retirement. Far too easy and far too many. There oughta be a law..........

Well hmmm. insulting someone for the color of their bike and then shooting them, involvement in a taser death (which according to numero uno Sharksfan didn't happen) AND tackling a 75 year old man, resulting in a civil lawsuit and now this guy is collecting a "disability retirement".

I am surprise the headline didn't read "Hero Cop" somewhere.

This is what I'm talking about. This is NOT the exception to the rule in Vallejo. It IS the rule. The chief brought in his son to replace this guy.

Vallejo should be proud. Another banner to fly for its tourism promotion.

Seems the Times Herald left out a few SMALL facts regarding the past incidents described......

-The 15 year old shot just happened to have a loaded handgun which he pulled out. AND after being shot spit out multiple piece of crack cocaine.

-The man who tradgically die after running from police was high out of his gorge on cocaine, hence causing his death.

(This is not insider information, it was all in the TH articles when they happened, guess the reporter didn't check those when she wrote the story)

I am not justifying anyone's actions, just thought it fair to provide more facts than were done so in this piecemealed slanted article.

Ainsworth was counting his money before he hit the ground. Wheter or not the officer's actions were appropriate, the officer immediately apologized to Ainsworth. Ainsworth didn't care about an apology all he could see was $$$$. Good luck with your car payment.

Great article, i mean...could you be any more objective? yeah, the poor guy was tackled. if you were in his shoes, would you wait until you saw a baby being tossed over the bridge to do something? as i remember the stories, the guy was wearing a 49ers jacket, just like the call described. are officers supposed to react to people dying or try to prevent it?

The 18 year old child (yeah, right) was armed with drugs on him. they shot him after he tried to kill the two off-duty officers.

and while tragic, the other 21 year old that died after being tased wouldn't be in the ground if it had not been for his excessive cocaine use and running from officers.

as for the lawsuit...great, a typical litigous society...sue the city for as much as you can just because you can. i'm sure everyone was sorry for the mistaken identity. a sincere apology was given and i'm sure vallejo pd would have been happy to pay his medical bills and assist him in other ways. but instead he wants to sue for as much as he can for a new car???!?!? nice.

i love the even keeled reporting and the lovely citizens that want to sue for everything. you wonder why police have become so distant in the recent years and crime has gone up.

i hope that all the officers in california can be safe in what they do and not have to worry about being sued all the time. please protect us as there are normal people out there that depend on you and respect you for the work you do. Thank you

I know both of the Patzer brothers and worked with both of them when they (and I) were younger. They were both very passionate about law enforcement, but they both had an extreme temper, and both were known to enjoy a good fight. I remember having to pull the Sr Patzer off of a suspect in a previous job of his, and remember thinking about him like a pit bull, he just kept going and going and straining at the leash....

Way to go there RACHEL RASKIN-ZRIHEN, I guess you couldn't find anything worth reporting on huh? Ya just had to stir the pot. RACHEL, I am very disappointed in you. Like what was already mentioned above, Police Officers don't always have the luxury of several seconds to determine if there is a threat, someones life is in jepordy etc... Patzer took that action he deemed to be the proper action to take at that second. If it was an 18 year old about to throw a baby over the side of that bridge, Patzer would've been the hero. Pull your head out of rectum RACHEL and write somthing worth while.

Bob, You are a prick for even posting you're comment. I bet you called the Patzers "friends" to their faces and then have the Audacity to try to smear their name. Go fu%$ yourself BOB D Cat. I don't know what you're trying to prove here but show that you're an idiot.

You came on here to post that crap at 1:20 AM

Are you now on your way to burn a cross on her lawn too. Moron.

Telling it like it is is stirring the pot?

We are not restricted by the blue wall of silence.

In fact if you scroll up several posts you will find one by a former coworker of Patzer, as well as someone who knew him, who said he had an anger problem.

I guess these people are turncoats though fro speaking out.

If you haven't realized the laugh is on you and the only reason I post on this pathetic excuse of an attempt at journalism is to torment you morons, then you have just been enlightened.

This has become a past time of mine. It is more amusing than any movie or TV show I could watch, better than any novel I could read and better than anything on CNN. That is because this is an example of how human beings react when their backs are up against the wall and in a jamb. Its like the fight or flight response taken to a new all time low.

It's like a Twilight Zone episode come to life.

Tragic in its own right.

Get a clue. You are here for my amusement. Not because I have chosen that path, but because you and those like you leave me no other option.

Obviously I have struck a nerve with you pathetic excuses for PSU employees. As I can see by the efforts being undertaken to discredit me and mock me here.

I have succeeded in my mission to expose you for what you really are, a bunch of immature thugs with no ethics, values or morals what so ever.

You fail to realize though, that every post you make mocking me is really an acknowledgment of how effective I have been.

I do not need to make any further comments here.
The rest speaks for itself.

Hey there Casual, numero uno sharksfan here. Im curious if your referring to something that I said "didnt happen". Im a little confused about your statement so can you please clarify. By the way, "your" facts are incorrect, that is if you care about that sort of thing.

Uh huh. I just have a negative opinion of the use of tasers.

But, I will except your viewpoint and let it go. I am not wanting a police officer to be hurt or otherwise for not using one to protect his/herself either.

As for the rest, I really do think we have some good officers and some not so good-past and present, and leave it at that.

I cant disagree with you there. Like in all industries, there are good, bad, lazy, incompetent, you name it. You see when less and less people want to work in this profession of LE then the pickings are slim and they start letting in people that normally wouldnt make the cut. Take for example people that used drugs, especially white dope. Used to be automatic DQ, but not anymore.

Im curious why your against tasers. Statistically they have been a great tool for LE. Overall, injuries to both officers and suspects are drastically down. Sure you get the case here and there where the suspect dies. As far as I know, in all of those cases, the suspect why under the influence of a stimulant. What would those officers have to do if they didnt use a taser? Baton strikes, wont feel it and ineffective, punches/kicks, wont feel it and looks bad. Oh yeah theres lethal force. Trust me, tasers have helped tremendously for the good of all. Advice to criminals everywhere, dont use drugs then fight with police, you might die. I guess we could chalk that upto an occupational hazard.
