I'd posted this on Steger News by Residents, as well. The more I think about it, the more I'd like to know why Crete police lured the man to a Steger restaurant.

Do you think this was his first time? I am afraid to think not. How many times does a criminal get away before he gets caught. I think it's irrelevant where the restaurant was, as long as they got him. What do you think he and his wife talk about at the dinner table!!!

I agree. I guess if there's going to be trouble, you don't want it in your town. I think the village board should send a letter to the Crete mayor and ask that question. |

They got it wrong -- they arrested the guy at the Dairy Queen on Steger Rd., which is in Crete. Whoever reported it must have just heard the "Steger" part of the story ...

It wasn't reported wrong here, not according to the newspaper, they must have made the mistake. Here is the head line, first paragraph, and the reporters name. Oak Forest man arrested in teen sex sting BY Lynda Hemmerling Correspondent A 57-year-old Oak Forest man is out on bail after being arrested in Steger for trying to arrange a sexual encounter with what he thought was a 13-year-old girl, police said. Yes, someone must have reported it wrong. I was at a village meeting where the police chief and the officer both talked about it in detail. It was the Dairy Queen.

Does it really matter where he was arrested? Get him off the street and analyze his computer. There are more and they run in circles.
