More than 100 people gathered for a forum at the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center to speak out against the California Department of Transportation 's proposal to replace the carpool lane in each direction with a toll option along the 14 miles of the 405 between Costa Mesa and the 605 Freeway.

At least four separate home videos reportedly show a Long Beach man sexually abusing a Costa Mesa girl, according to Orange County court records. Ryan Michael Booth, 23, a machinist living in Long Beach, was scheduled to be in court Tuesday to answer to 31 separate counts in the case that alleges he sexually abused a girl under the age of 10 since April of last year, according to a complaint filed by the Orange County District Attorney Tuesday.

Following preliminary investigation, the crimes have been linked to two separate serial bank robbers currently being sought by the Orange County Bank Robbery Apprehension Team , whose members are working with various municipalities where the suspects have robbed.
