River closes area roads
Floodwater from the river crossed State Road 258 between Seymour and Cortland this morning and continued flowing over county roads all along the river bottoms.

Woman arrested after car rolls over
A Jackson County woman was arrested early Sunday after crashing her car in a wooded area along State Road 258 west of Cortland while trying to avoid striking a deer.
Crash injures police officer
Holt, a road patrol officer with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department for two years, was fortunate to have escaped without more serious injuries when his cruiser crashed on State Road 258 between Cortland and Acme as he responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in which gunshots were fired, police said.
