Hit-and-run suspect rejects plea offer, will face trial in death of Eric Geter
The driver in a fatal hit-and-run crash turned down a plea deal Thursday in Orange County Court to a reduced count that would have required her to accept a prison sentence of one and a third to four years in prison.
She will go to trial on manslaughter and vehicular manslaughter charges.
Geter, 32, was struck by a car early on Jan. 9 as he walked to his job on Walsh Road in New Windsor, on a narrow, winding stretch of road that runs along the Quassaick Creek.
