Why don't they just move the darn fair to Corning where someone might come to it or someonce can do something with it? Piggott certainly has let the fair go down the drain! I remember as a kid it was still a little bit fun, at least there were a lot of farm animals to look at, but i heard there's not even many of them now. Calling it the "clay County" fair is a joke, most people in the county don't even know where/when its held. It could be incorporated in with the Harvest Festival and actually bring some money into the county.
so sick of this subject

That's a fair idea. Actually, it's a good one. Bring it back alive. But it all needs to be affordable. It would still make money because more people would go if it weren't so pricey to go to that stuff.

I agree. To call it a fair is a disgrace.

So? It's shoved out on the back forty of Piggott! To me it looks like Piggott would embrace the fair as a chance to bring business in to their town, instead they have just let it go.....bring it to Corning....i bet a lot more people will come, especially around Harvest Festival time....the Harvest fest. is always a big success.

Back when I was a child goin to the cc fair it was good. I took my son up there, and the was nothing!?! What is this towm coming too. You would think they would want to pass on the experience of the CC fair as when they was younger goin to it. I was embarressed as a resident of this town. Its not a Piggott fair...Its a COUNTY fair and this is what they come up with?? I will not attend it until it changes. I hope others take the same path as I do and send them a message that this is an embarresment to our town and county. Our kids deserve better than that.

That's why it needs to be moved to Corning, to coincide with the Harvest Festival! Piggott is where it is located, does Piggott still host the parade for it? Looks to me like Piggott has had its chance. The Harvest Festival draws people from all over, and the atmosphere is GREAT! This needs to be put to a vote, of course, but Piggott has let it slip and you are right, it's an embarrassment. MOVE IT TO CORNING!

I believe some of the problems with the local fairs are that they all try to have them at the same time!! The carnivals are forced to choose the site that will bring in the most money for themselves and the small towns lose out because of this. Also, the contests are so biased toward locals who have money that others are reluctant to enter. Canning, gardening, and 4H have lost their appeal for many and this limits the display of vegetables, animals, and homemade goods. TECHNOLOGY makes this sort of event seem mundane to our children and teens.
If I could get a funnel cake, or something that they "fry" at the fairs, at Sonic, I would never attend another "Fair"!

Funnel cakes are easy to make, I got my recipe off the internet and they are as good as the fair's funnel cakes. I enjoy looking at the craft and gardening exhibits, especially the crochet afghans, homemade clothing, and even the heirlooms, and the photography contests. The carnival rides are nearly gone, that is the shameful part I don't like seeing every year now. It used to be fun, but not anymore. I feel sorry for the kids in this county.
