Whitefield voters approve fire truck purchase, mining moratorium
Whitefield voters at the Town Meeting approved the purchase of a new fire truck and enacted a 180-day moratorium on mining.

A mining moratorium, road repairs and the purchase of a fire truck are among the issues facing voters at Town Meeting on March 15. The mining moratorium and a substantially higher budget line for road maintenance will be up for debate during the business portion of Town Meeting, which will start at 2 p.m. at Whitefield Elementary.

Support for Whitefield Fire Truck Proposal
About 40 Whitefield residents took the opportunity to learn more about the fire department's $269,000 request for a new fire truck at a public hearing Feb. 25. On March 15, residents will take a special referendum vote on the question of purchasing a 2015 E-One pumper tanker at a cost of $269,000.

Park with art, memorial, opens in Rockland
