Wrong ,, Just happen to be in the field and real about what I see and hear.. people are impressed by people who do impressive things.. not by those who are impressed with themselves... You have the typical cop attitude as stated before... I have a badge, uniform, can do no wrong and can I get a break when I screw up.... Get over yourselves. Btw father was a cop as weel as two of my brothers.. So I guess you weren't investigators.. you sure got this one wrong...

You don't seem to understand either.. Not agruing the point or difference between SRO vs Security Guard,,, ONCE AGAIN just pointing out the facts that MOST people don't think that cops are in schools... Most schools have hall monitors or security guards...So get over yourself and I'm not self centered and I'm certainly not ....Self serving like the rest of you...

Where did I claim to be an expert? |

And in my particular field, I do legally qualify, and testify in court as an expert. |

Do you follow your own posts? So are you an expert or not..... You sure post like you are... What field might that be? Field of dreams... |

I certainly do! Lets just say, I am where science comes into the courtroom, thats all you need to know about my field! Nice!......You sound like a partially educated ninth grader using an elementary school arguement in an attempt to provoke someone. |

If the people who are blaming the cop would spend one day, all day with a bunch teenage students. They would shot them even if they didn't have a knife.

Great comment, very funny. Ain't that the truth.

When all else fails... people who are wrong turn to belittling others.. Isn't that what you're doing?

Smarter then Thou.....Give me a break. I can be anything I want to be on this board. Just like yourself, a self made expert, science project. Like I've said "People are impressed with people who do impressive things, people aren't impressed with people who are impressed with themselves".(You know how that is!) If you're so highly educated why spend time on these boards? No one else will listen to your stories outside of these boards?

Ok I am going to step in here. I do not know why the waste of so many words. NC used to make sense but as I go back and read I am not clear what the confusion is all about. This is just out of wake. This is actually a very simple story and there is no need for any changes to anything.
This was a good cop. let's say a great cop. a real level headed cop. Even if you do not like most ego maniac cops, let me say that you would like this guy. He was such a good man that even after this sick kid went crazy and stabbed him he shot to stop him. He really did try to stop the kid without killing him. The new this kid and new the kid had problems and he thought for a second that he could stop him. The kid had two knives, he took one away but this little kid seemed to have some kind of out of control supper strength and kept stabbing him. He really tried not to kill the kid. This cop had no choice and truth be known he went a whole lot further in trying to save this kid than I would have. So let's stop all the bull about this officer . He was and is one of the good ones. He was a very experienced, great cop and will probably retire as a result of this. South Carolina people would love to dream of perfect schools with all the latest things. Wouldn't it be great if we could have 5 or 10 special trained officers with non-lethal weapons instead of guns. The answer is that we cannot afford it and no it would not be great, you see sometimes lethal force is necessary or have you not heard of columbine and V.A. tec. We are fortunate to have the officers that we do have protecting the schools and at this point all the bleeding hearts are just going to have to accept that as long as are schools have a few problem children or special needs children mixed in with the healthy children things can go wrong. Things can and will continue to go wrong on occasion and that is just the way it is. The schools need to continue to spend money on education and they should continue to have police on campus to protect and serve and yes sometimes one of these problem children might go nuts, but that is the way it is and always has been. This is a tragedy for the kid, the school, the community, the family and the cop. So let just except that stuff happens and this case know that this good man did the best he could. And finial let me say that yes in some kind of dream world there would be a way to prevent suicide by cop but that is not yet part of our barley functioning school system which is still trying to provide a little bit of and education of the funds that are available. N.C. I am surprised that you got so far out there on this topic. |

By the way. Mr. Rhodes did not win the election. It is a runoff. It could go either way. So stay tuned for a whole lot if dirty politics and some real low life slanted media coverage during the next two weeks.

Not to confuse you.. it all started with Security Guard vs Cop (SRO) The point I was making is that it was a terrible tragedy whether it was a Cop or a Security Guard who shot the kid. The other person chose to turn this into a court trial on the difference between a Sworn Police Officer and a Security Guard. I made the point that most people on here are posting with their feelings and to them it didn't really matter if it was a Security Guard or a Sworn Police Officer. I'm fully aware of the difference in training. He also got upset when I told him a badge and a uniform doesn't bring you respect, it's how you handle yourself and treat others. I also pointed out that cops when in trouble always look for a break from another officer, that got him upset too. Then I pointed out the two officers that got fired from there jobs One a Horry County Officer and the other a Myrtle Beach Officer. The point made here was they went to the academy and earned their badge and uniform but failed as professionals, hence the uniform doesn't earn you respect. So all in all he turned to belittling, a truly educated expert (as he claims to be) wouldn't bother with these boards.

You do not need to get sucked into all that. There is at least one other dirty cop that has done some really bad things and has yet to be brought to justice. It is just a matter of time. But as far as the schools go. they suck up anywhere from 1 to 2 thirds of the tax money and they still have a hard time making ends meet. They need to keep spending the money on education, especially in hiring good teachers and thank God we have school cops otherwise things would spin out of control real quick. So you are straight about Mr. Rhodes not winning and about it being a runoff election on the 17th. Ain't it great.

I don't care either way about who is the next MB mayor, but it is useful to note: 52% of votes went against John Rhodes however 72% of votes went against Mark McBride, Rhodes' runoff opponent. I would have to take the odds that Rhodes will probably keep his position...
And let me re-iterate, I don't care which one is the next mayor, I realize that some have an Ax to grind with Rhodes though... |
