Boone- A Connelly Springs man has been arrested and charged in a robbery case that occurred in Boone.

Boone police have arrested a Connelly Springs man suspected of being the "H2O Bandit" who distracted convenience-store clerks by spilling water on the floor before he stole items last year.

Charges Timothy Ray Shook, 51, of 6246 Rollins Park Drive, Connelly Springs, was served criminal summons Thursday for assault.

Incumbent school board member Sam Wilkinson of Valdese now faces no opposition in his run for re-election. Dianne D. Mobley of Connelly Springs said Monday she is leaving the race.
