We dined here for my mother's birthday on July 14th...very disapointed! The bar tender, who told us he was the bar manager, dissed our favorite competitor (Hollanders) he said their food was bad and they were in trouble due to lack of customers, which is totally untrue as we are there at least twice a week and it's got a great crowd and fabulous food and service. I was very put off by this bar manager thinking he could build the Flying Dutchman's business by dissing the competitors. I have never encounter another business owner speaking bad about thier fellow business owners.

On to the food and service...waitress never brought water, had to ask for butter for the baked potatoes...from another server as ours had not returned to our table. Set everything down and said..."Ya want Ketchup with that" (fries...duh!) My scallops were very small, though plentiful. but had a slight bleach smell...yuk! When my mom complained that she had inadvertently put sour cream on her potato because she thought it was the butter, the waitress just shrugged and never offered to replace it. All in all, will not be back!

Dined at Hollanders last night, great food, great crowd, friendly, attnetive and competent staff!

Daily Horoscope for January 1

Sagittarius

Happy New Year, Saggitarius! Despite the headache, your motivation level is high today, setting a trend for the rest of the year. You'll be surrounded by relatives and friends all year and will work passionately to help them, as you do. Things go smoothly today, and you're absorbed with the duties of new year. Be careful that you don't neglect your own health, though. You can't help others if you're run down.
