New NM laws are on the books: don't Google your ex too often!
Senate Bill 166 revises the crime of stalking, to include cyberstalking and other use of technological devices for stalking.
"Stalking is a continuance of behavior, so it takes more than one report (to show a pattern). Sometimes, they (victims) won't come in until some months later and say someone has been doing it," said Luna County Sheriff's Sgt. Joy Mullins.
The new law extends stalking violations to use of emails and other electronics. Records of such use may be subpoenaed for court use.
Man Arrested Near Salina in "Operation Loadrunner" Pleads Guilty
According to the U.S Attorney's Office, 20-year-old Leondardo Escalante from Columbus, N.M., has pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess and distribute marijuana and cocaine.

The new Columbus Elementary School is scheduled to open in less than a month. Deming Public Schools is working toward July 22 as the first day for students, but opening is contingent on installation of pumps to maintain adequate water pressure and volume.
