Can you tell what taxes were raised by this City Council? I think you will find the answer is none. And utility rates are based only on the provision of water to your house or business and is not a tax. They can only charge what it costs to get water to your meter. Rates increase, nothing is free or doesn't increase in costs. Unfortunately few people understand local government financing and the triple-flip does not help. But it is a result of the crushing limits on property taxes from, you got it, Prop 13. Do you realize that some homes in Colton contribute less than $100 per year to support local police, fire, streets, storm drainage and park maintenance? Sorry but that is just not enough. You will ultimately get the level of service you are willing to pay for. Citizens only want more services at less revenues and complain bitterly when they do not get it. Anyone entering public service is a fool at this point. Crass commercialism has driven the public into spending all their money on stuff, and not they will not support the provision of services they receive everyday. The only thing I blame City Managers and finance director for is pulling rabbits out of the hat for these past 30 years and somehow balancing the City budgets (at least on paper). Guess what? You have run out of rabbits and no one believe you, but i know the rabbit are gone, or actually never were.

WRONG TRIPLE FLIP! What about the MILLIONS they took out of water department and gave to RDA for a worthless piece of fly property? Oh, but now the water department is broke so we raise rates 112%. And don't forget the $1.6 million 'passthru' every year from water department to general fund! And your Utility User Tax is based on all this as well as all other utilities including huge electric (which goes up today, another 10% or so w/UUT).

You can go form a committee and challenge the City's water rates (via a Prop 208 challenge) based upon the costs the City identified as the cost of provision of water service. Go take it to court, or do you just want to complain on a blog? Put your efforts where they really matter. But I don't think you really will. Coward. Just a common garden variety whiner without the real back-bone to do anything about it, because you will lose. You have no idea what your are really talking about.

I don't think Fiesta Village has much to do with Pizza Jerk other than he's on the same lot.I've been silently boycotting the place since being called an idiot while being told that Maria Serrano and embezzler girl had solid cases against the city,the Mayor would lose in the recall election ,construction would stop on the bike path and a whole lot of other half-truths.Something along the scale of the boycott of La Villa is needed to show this guy Colton Voters are tired of his shenanigans.BTW: does anyone know the name of the business Mr. Cade owns and runs in Colton ?

Hey great idea... let's boycott and maybe we can get another Colton business to close costing the city even more sales tax revenue. Your next suggestion is a real winner, if the boycott doesn't work let's have our police harass that business. Geez, didn't that tactic already cause a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the city?
