Oh my God somebody was shot in Colorado Springs??? I dont believe it! Aint no way this happened in Colorado Springs!!! According to one of your local residents, a moron named Jim Collins this kind of thing has never, nor never will happen in your town. Oh by the way if you guys are wondering who I am, well just call me rawtruth. A coal miner from Harlan Ky. Got this nut Jim Collins coming to the Harlan forum every day talking crap like some big bad you know what.(Course he lives 1500 miles away, always easy to talk a big talk when no one can get their hands on ya. Crime happens everywhere, unfortunately. The crime rate in Colorado Springs (with loose gun control laws) is still a lot lower per capita than Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit, and Washington D.C (which have virtual/total gun bans). Gun Control contributes to the rise in crime.

Colorado Springs is a very nice place to live, but just like any other mid-sized city there are certain areas more prone to crime than others. Whenever there is a violent crime it always seems to center around the same neighborhoods. Being aware of your surroundings and having the ability to defend yourself is the key to avoid being a victim. Cowardly criminals look for "soft" targets and will always attack someone who looks like a victim in-lieu of someone who looks like a potential problem.

I live in one of the nicer areas of Colorado Springs.(Broadmoor)

I've never seen a city this size so beautiful, and so clean.

This is a happening place, alive, and I love it. So much to do here and expore, unlike living in a place like Kentucky.

Just thinking of Kentucky makes my skin crawl.

Thank goodness for the gorgeous state of Colorado.
