It's incredible how you read a story in the paper, such as this one, and inside you praise law enforcement for getting such a "sexually violent predator" out of our community & to justice. YET these summarized articles in our Daily Local do not provide us with all the facts. Law enforcement: ATTORNEYS, judges, police officers, etc.- are here to help us, PROTECT us, keep us safe from any harm. At least that's what I was raised to believe; unlike some youth in our community. YET I was oblivious to see that these authorities take their position in our JUSTICE system to whole new level & go on a power trip. We are ALL equal - We are ALL human - We ALL make mistakes; No one is exempt from prison - not even law enforcement. They need to remember what it is to be a part of the court system; To help victims and their families find closure; to bring criminals to justice - not to misconstrue victim's testimonies, withhold pertinent information & dismiss victim's wishes and views. That is obstructing justice and is also grounds for a prison sentence. & anyone who has anything to say about this person is giving EMTs and EMSs a bad name --- if ALL the information and evidence were presented to the court, as it should have been... the you would know that there were at least 5 other EMTs over the age of 18 that are also GUILTY. These "friends" of Timothy Kauffman threw him under the bus to save themselves. & we wonder why it took the DA almost 2 years to sentence him - b/c NO ONE WANTED TO TESTIFY. NO ONE WANTED TO PRESS CHARGES. Because they, THEMSELVES, are guilty. It's not right what happened here... no one is justifying his actions... but can we be grown and take responsibility for our own actions and stop putting it off on someone else??? FYI - if you cant keep your girl in check, then she shouldn't be your girl. JEALOUSY IS A WEAK EMOTION.
