I mean, what about the people ages 25-40 who are struggling to find jobs right now? The ones with families to care for? What about them?

This is for a program called Let's Go 2 Work. It is a federal program that gives summer jobs to those age groups. It also provides career guidance to them. It is a good program for the youth. For more info, you can go to letsgo2work.org or myspace.com/letsgo2work

Thanks, I have read about it and know about it, and I agree that it is a good program for the youth, but what I want to know is why is there nothing out there like that for the struggling people ages 25+?? These people need it right now... especially the ones who have children and families to care for. It's already harder to get a job if u are over 30... I think they need to come up with something to help them... |

Usually people age 16-20 don't have any job hunting skills and this program addresses that also. Most "older" people have done this before. For most in this program this is their first jobs. Community Action also has several programs already in place for "older" adults, such as Ready to work, JTPA, and I don't remember the names of them all. Give them a call, 432 2.7.7.5, maybe they will have something for you.
My son will be taking part in this today and I think it is a wonderful idea. Its exactly these ages that need guidance the most, not 25-40 year olds. |

There is an unemployment office with jobs, ones that we're continually turned away from and given the spill... "overqualified", "not enough experience despite more than enough education"... this are just seems to be sinking fast! |

yes, it is a good program. for the youth's parents who are on SSI or they do drugs the live long day. this program is based on the amount of income your parents make. i mean my parents dig and scrap and we barely get by. we live from pay check to pay check and my parents are hard working people. i think they need to do a few tweeks on that program.
