That is a question I hope the State Fire Marshal will be asking. Does anyone know anything about the now former Chief Bragg?

The FD didn't turn in their paperwork to the state by the deadline. Therefore, they didn't recieve any state money this year and couldn't pay the bills.

hey toe, you obviously have not been involved in volunteer firefighting. These folks do it for free and if they are lucky enough to get reimbursed from the home owner or insurance company, they use that money for training, tools, and vehicle upkeep. A good set of bunker gear runs $1500.00 per set per firefighter,$10,000 a year for insurance,$400.00 per pager, worker comp $2500.00 a year, b
fuel for trucks ??$1500.00 a month ?? give or take per department.reathing devices $2000.00 each

We havent even repaired or replaced equipment needed for fire fighter fighting.

I personally think they should raise the tax each resident pays and pay each firefighter a wage per call. They now do it for free!

Toe, do you work for a insurance company? or are you just an armchair firefighter?

Let us know if you still think the Volunteer fire departments are too expensive and I will help you to get a tax increase going.

There were only a few "non fd members" that were assisting when the FD was on fire. I've noticed some of your ridiculous comments on the forum. It's obvious who you are, why do you try to glorify yourself.

All I can say, is that they put someone in their that knows the political side of fund raising and finance! A good chief should be a good administrator first and a fire fighter second.

If you set your officer board up with fire experienced people, you will have a great team to cover the problems that take over the department.

The best firefighter in the world could not have stopped this problem, it would have taken a good administrator!

Well if you have a PO Box in Coal City you should've received a letter by now from Roger regarding this situation. Don't ever believe "hear say" it just makes you look ignorant.

when running a fire dept it is all about paper work. People that isn't in a dept doesn't really know what all you have to do to keep your funding coming in,it isn't a easy task. With state funds there is only so much you can do with it with limitled funding and limitled spending of it. I know we just had a state audit and we mis spent like 1,500 and over 1,100 of it was on a Insurance that wasn't allowable,a few adds and ends that also wasn't allowable. but we didn't know that so we had to repay it. and when repaying, where is the money coming from we was lucky we had a little insurance money from being flooded. So make sure you have all the facts before throwing stones at anyone.Because it's Not easy trying to make sure you do everything the right way when it comes to state funds . GOOD LUCK to Roger in getting everything back together at Coal City and If there is anything we can do to Help Just let us KNOW we will be GLAD to help in anyway. WE KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TO START OVER AGAIN.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Capricorn

You're dashing around in several directions at once today because you're gripped by the burning desire to get things done. You're in a tearing hurry, and the problem is that this could make you rather irritable if things don't go the way you want or people don't jump to it. You might also be feeling angry with a friend, even if you can't put your finger on what's wrong.
