If I had did that my mother would have said "go out side and get me a switch" and I would have. The poor dears are grounded and what that is it? Kids get off to easy these days and that is one of the problems of our society today. I wander what daddy said when he got home?

These kids nowadays get away with everything. Does the 9 years old have a brain? Is anything in it. This could of ended in a tragedy. Why was mom sleeping?

Where is the responsibility?

If he/they had gotten a few good A.S.S. whoopin's in the past instead of "grounding" I will bet that they would not even have considered going to look for their father cuz' when they did find him, there would have been 2 more cans of whoop-A.S.S opened up right there

They all got what they deserved as a result of bad parenting.

If the mother was sleeping, what can you expect from the kids. It seems to me that these kids spend a lot of time alone eveing when there is a parent at home.

Too bad they didn't end up in the ground where they could be extra well grounded.

Unsupervised children will always get into trouble. This mother should've stayed awake.

Wow. Talk about some mature adults! What sort of comments are these? Thank God they r ok, first of all.

2nd...I agree with you, "Billy Da Kid". Is it against the law and parental guidelines to take a nap now?

Yes, I do think that chilren are very much so unsupervised these days, and that has a lot to do with a decision to drive away in the family vehicle. Even my 12 yr. old wouldn't attempt something like that.

It's a matter of teaching our children from the beginning.

Perhaps a night in juvenile hall would help. Parents are afraid to spank their children because the law says they cant. Now they may charge the parent… hmmm is it just another way to put money into the system with lawyers and court costs? Parents need to be allowed to discipline their children. These two need to be disciplined. And momma needs to get her bottom out of bed!

I will bet every one of us has dozed off at one point or another or overslept. I do know my daughter will not even think about doing something like this no matter what I am doing. If she did I might ground her but with her personality this is more effective than spanking as it means sitting alone in her room every day for a week and there is no TV, radio, anything in there.

I agree. My children get up before I do on the weekends, and NONE of them would even think of doing this. Even if they did think of it, they would never do it. My boys know that I would let the police arrest them for doing something so blatently illegal and irresponsible. They also know that I wouldn't be too quick with bail money either.

Being a parent can be exhausting, and if these kids are any indication, I'm sure their mother is close to passing out on a regular basis. This happened at 9:00 AM on a Wednesday, so I would bet that mother was still sleeping from the previous day of craziness.

I can't imagine what my parents would have done to me if I had even thought about getting behind the wheel of a car before I was legal to do so.

The poor dears were disciplined and poor Hunter has to now live with the embarrassment and guilt of what he did. I can say that because its true and he is my nephew. When someone tells you your kids are ok after all that, you don't beat them.

Because she works a night job to help support her family one of which (Jessie) has severe medical problems and they are struggling, and doing the best they can, it was early in the AM. She is not a bad mother. She has a tough gig as you can cleary see, these are not your average kids.
