do to the lack of inforcement of our laws by the da office.in regards to the issac trial.the measage to our youth,is that you can kill someone and get away with it .if you say the person was bothering you or they started it first. im sure the DA will drop some charges,or let you go with a slap on the wrist.killing or attemting to kill someone. should not be eccepted.

i agree with the aunt, what's happening to our children.
ive always told my children that violence doesnt stop violence. i feel that the parents of the acussed should be held some what accountble for their childs actions.they should have been teaching her right from wrong. my heart goes out to the victims families, our chilren should never go before us even as young children. |

I hope that they lock the little witch up and throw away the key. She deserves the worst. My hear goes to the family

My prayers for the family, I also wonder what society is teaching our children, to even have some think that this is a reasonable reaction to an arguement.
I hope this murderer gets life in prison. |

I heard the sirens yesterday around 2:15, and my husband was in the area. When he came home he told me what had happened. I was sickened by this news. What is happening in this community? What ever happened to an old fashion fight? Why do our children carry weapons? Or even get the idea that it is ok to kill someone. It is a sad sad day when a young life has been taken for no reason at all.
What are we teaching our children? My prayers go out to both families |

From what I heard, a young boy was a witness to this horrible crime, he is very traumatized, from what I heard, he had some of the blood from the victim on him.
keep this young boy in your prayers as well. |

Several post have asked "what are we teaching the childern that this could happen"
The real question is what aren't we teaching them! |

From what I heard, both of these girls were coming home from school. This caused me to realize that the murderer had a knife with her at the school. It would have been nice if the school would do something about kids carrying weapons with them at school and on the bus. If the kids thought they would get in trouble for carrying weapons at school or they might be searched, this whole thing might have been a big hair pulling street brawl instead of a murder. The most responsible person in this whole matter is of course the girl who did the stabbing but we still need to learn something from it.

That's what I am hearing also, that they were just getting home from school, and walking towards their homes, that is why that young boy was there, because he also just existed the bus. I am 41, and I grew up in Lake County, and I cannot remember a time when kids were bringing weapons to school, now it seems to be a common practice. I can see why so many parents want to home school these days. |

This incident is so Clearlake. Obviously the girl had the knife at school. And, carried it onto the bus. I believe the school needs to imlement a better security system. Instead, the high school is installing a new gym. Sounds like the school system is sorely lacking in priorities. Shame on the school and what it believes is importent. Half the kids that graduate can't even function in the real world. Case in point...stabbing and killing a young girl just getting off the school bus. My heart goes out to both families and the young boy who had to witness this mindless act of violence. SHAME ON LOWER LAKE HIGH SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!! I hope the new gym serves you well. Maybe this will serve as a wake up call, but I doubt it.

These girls did not attend LLHS, they went to a continuation High School, that is why they were out of class so early.

The funding for the gym is taking nothing away from the school. LLHS only had to wait, well, forever, to obtain funding for a gym that is sorely lacking. Don't blame a gym for the random act of stupidity and tragedy. You're looking in the wrong direction.

why do we choose to blame schools? this is an entire community's problem. this young lady was born and raised in clearlake. she should have been safe. her home should have protected her. because there is no such thing as community anymore everyone chooses to blame someone else denying there own responsiblity in this tragic incident. she was an intelligent, caring, loving, daughter, sister, and friend. my heart bleeds for her family. my family mourns this tragedy and will miss her, as i will remember and miss the good old days when being a kid in clearlake was different.

i didnt mean her family home should have protected her, she comes from a very loving family. i meant her hometown, the place where she comes from, her people. i just wanted to clarify that.

Our Heather will be missed very much. Thank you to all of you for your comments and support. There are so many unanswered questions at this point. Hopefully in the end they will all come out. Hopefully justice will be served and our family someday maybe might have some resolution. Until that time we all loved Heather very much and we will truly miss her.
