Neighbors try to stop Port Leyden mine

It has to be somewhere. In glad that it is there and not here.

I agree, although a number of folks SUPPORT the mine, there are a few who love their DEAD town just the way it is. Shame arent they!

Just like the Ava Landfill, people from down Utica way don`t want a power Line in their backyard yet, doesn`t seem that it bothers them to send their garbage up here to dump in our backyard.

Lets see Five or six jobs vs health of a complete village Hmmmm you idiots who think thi damn mine is so good are dumber than you sound. Get real and look at all aspects of this thing. However if you dont who the hell cares as you are a minority! I saw the the petitions and aprox 80% of the town is against it and the surrounding towns are raiseing questions as to the possible afects on them! this mine has a very big fight on its hands and will not be easy to win! as for that damn landfill if you folks wanted outside support why didnt you ask for it? no one ever sent me a letter or aproached me and no we outsiders did not agree nor do we agree at this time with the decision to put the landfill in your town. Thats right just keep the same attitude its not our problem and this shit goes on forever! come togather to stop this sort of thing and lets form a peoples advocate group! who cares where you live. Theres strength in numbers! further more your land fill fighters are and have been helpfull in this battle as well. stop bitching and be one group! fight for what we all believe! if it costs a few jobs then we need to fight for those who loose the jobs as well. It can happen if we are smart enough to band togather instead of being so opinionated and unwilling to look at the big picture. America was the land of opertunity because we made it that way! and if and when opertunity fails its our fault for letting this happen! Port leyden can never grow when the land in mention is gone! its worth ten times what berrits want to pay as its the only real spot for growth in the town! imagine 70 acres of village added..... stores business homes..... only a fool would allow them to spoil a chance for comunity growth. No its not in village limits but it can be added under proper circomstances. Want to get rich Millick? Think this over! The village could be saved by you and expanded as well! Something to think about!

There limestone all along the ridge up to rt 12d. I think about where Millicks farm is probably has limestone under it, so if Barretts buys that and gets a road to rt 12d it would be far enough away from the village to not cause problems. or put it on the land behind the farm and it would be closer to 12d.

Are you as dumb as you spell? We all think so. First off, who in their right mind would think the Village will expand? That will NEVER happen, and if it did, it would expand to the North as the lay of the land is sloped and the necessary excavating would be way to costly. If the Village were to expand it would head due south where the land is flat and easily accessible to route 12. Duh! The property to the north ISNT GOOD FOR ANYTHING BUT A QUARRY. You say the quarry parecel is worth ten times what Barret's is paying for it. ARE YOU on cocaine? One could buy the entire VILLAGE for 10 million dollars.

Saveing Jobs, As I read the trash you type I come to realize that you are fully aware that the shit you type is nothing more then garbage. You have to trash things like spelling and speak of where the town would expand as though you were an expert on the matter. Well you are part of the vast minority and your foolish way of thinking is what kept the town from groing for many years. in fact the death of this town rest on the backs of people like you! and saveing jobs as you choose for a name..... Boy are you blind and deaf! the few jobs you save will not compare to the lost tax dollars and loss of comunity residence forced to leave due to the biggest mistake in the history of this town! To think an OPEN PIT MINE on the edge of any town is the way to go to improve the standard of liveing is justplain perposterous! Stupidity comes in many diferent forms and you have proven that my ability to spell means nothing compared to your ability to rationalize! If I were you Ild take my head out of my ass and breath because its seriously afecting your ability to think! People have to have jobs which are not in Port Leyden. Even the postmaster and assistant are from out of town.With no industry here and gas so expensive people have to move where the work is So Port leyden turns into Tombstone with only welfare, handicapped and retired which gets a check each month.
Not meant to slam anybody or the village its just the plane truth.

Oh face it.... You are not qualified to make the statements you make unless you do your reserch. You see before port leyden was in existance there were no jobs then either but a few good hard working people started to build a town and created jobs that fit the surroundings as well as the people. Are we as a group of people not capable of following their direction as we have more to start with then they did.
