We must watch out for those who cannot fairly watch out for themselves.

1 You're right! Why bother printing this when you don't include any information. |

1 All the information about what train it was and when it left is common knowledge, therefore it can be reported right away. Even though you don't care about it, others may. The rest of the information is relied upon through investigators and eyewitnesses and may not be readily available to the press. Especially if relatives have not yet been notified, the police and investigators may hold back some of the information and release it later to the press. |

1 Then don't print it until you have a story with some info. |

1 I believe it is a dumb place to place housing complexes. There are too many risks and i believe if owners of such places were to be held liable in these tragic events by signing an agreement to be responsible they would choose other sites to house our elderly. not being rude but would one build a day care as close as these are and the closeness of them does permit access to the tracks. Our elderly are no different as there are medical concerns that need closely monitored as do "children" . they are currently building many many of these units at Sierra and Orange in fontana and i already know, its going to happen again. so very sad and my condolences to the family and friends whom lost a loved one. |

1 Don't print? Who makes you the decision maker on what others get to read? For the the person driving home that happened to notice lots of flashing lights, it means something even if it doesn't to you. They might wonder, was it a shooting? Did someone get raped? Was it a bomb explosion? Was it a fire? But that person can go home and bring it up online and see that it was an elderly woman killed by the train. Maybe all the info is not in yet, but at least they now have an idea what they saw. That's the difference between an online (free) newspaper edition and the hard-copy that you purchase. Online is able to bring it up right from the start and add more as the story progresses. If you don't like the way the online free editions work, then stick to the old newstand and home delivery. Nobody forces it on you, and you don't pay for it. If you don't like it, then stop reading it. Leave it for those of us who appreciate it for what it is, a free service that gives us bits of information now instead of having to wait til tomorrow morning to read the full story. |

1 You are obviously one of these idiots that slow down on the freeway to rubber-neck and put others in danger because you are nibby.Chances are, there won't be a follow up on the story in the print edition. |

1 Actually not, Spoof. I'm not one of those who complains because they need to know every aspect of what happened right away. Those who need to know everything right away would be the type to rubberneck. I would think those would be the type that would rubberneck to see everything, wouldn't you think? Read back and you'll see I'm the one who was just fine with the little bit of info that was printed. No need for me to see and read everything right away like some here. |
