Update 7:15 p.m. Mobile County Animal Control now says that more than 200 malnourished birds were found at the home - some of them dead.

A Citronelle man convicted on 13 counts of rape, sodomy and sex abuse in June was sentenced to eight life sentences last Thursday.

Fire has swept through a four-unit strip mall in Citronelle, destroying a florist business and a former insurance office and heavily damaging a dry cleaner.

June 30 -- Three small business owners in Citronelle are surveying the damage after fire ripped through a strip mall.
