Scary times for pumpkin growers in New England

My pumpkins got to about the size of a grapefruit then the vines just quit. I spoken to other growers at some farmers markets and they were all experiencing the same conditions. So, both tomatoes and pumpkins had bad years.

My pumpkin patch started from an old pumpkin that started to rot that I buried out back I've had about 15 years of a bumper pumpkin crop ever since and this year- not one!

we,ll have to wait for the great pumpkin to rise out of the pumkin patch it happens every halloween eve

Two years running and my one plant set no fruit.All in the hill died off and the remaining one is a very large and healthy looking plant but no pumpkins. I grow mine in my septic leach field and have had a couple over the years in the 200 pound size. This size is really nothing compaired to the national record which I think is near 1200 pounds and comes from Fitchburg.Do a web search key word giant pumpkin and read about this guy and a guy in Canada who seem to grow in the 1000 pound plus size.

Good pumpkin crop in East Tennessee, Bledsoe County, Hope the rain slacks off to where they can be gotten out of the patchs by the trailer loads.
