I have no problem with officers making our streets safer and nabbing fools who think their time is more important than my safety. However, dressing up in these silly costumes every holiday bugs me, and I can't really pinpoint why.

The whole idea of the costumes is to call attention to the program. By the time a driver even sees a costumed cop, they have already been clocked. If they were speeding or running a red light, they may get a ticket. Really simple.

Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time.

No truer words have been spoken. LOL

I get a kick out of people that complain about getting tickets/speed traps. 1) slow down 2) don't run the red light 3) drive safely - and you wont have to worry.

In the State of Florida, individual law enforcement agencies do NOT receive money from traffic citations. The money goes to the state, the courts, and to the school systems. The only money that even remotely comes back to law enforcement is a small amount administered by the state for police training. The individual Police Departments, Sheriff's Offices, or the Highway Patrol does not receive money from traffic citations.

When drivers speed through the streets and are responsible for hurting or even killing people, the same people that complain about cops writing tickets would be complaining that the cops WEREN'T writing tickets to help save lives. They're in a no-win situation when it comes to some people !!!

You vermin out there know who you are. Weaving in and out of traffic, speeding, tailgating. You SOB's get a nice juicy ticket and I ride by and wave and laugh! Orange County has the worst, inconsiderate drivers around and it is nice to see the law ticketing the scum who make the roads dangerous.

It is pretty cheesy to do the costume thing as a cop. Give the ticket, but leave the stupid costumes for trick or treaters.
what a joke

How about you folks enforce the ILLEGAL EXHAUST and 25'-loud-radio laws!

Oh...that's right....that would seem to unfairly target one particular group. And we damn sure can't upset THAT group in this town!

You mean the white guys?
I don't like those bikers who don't know how to ride either.
Even the white ones.
And some the worst sounding car stereo's are in a few white guys cars.
It's not about race.
It's about knowing nothing about audio or how to safely ride a bike.

Really, you know when they are on a call? You do realize that most of the time you see a law enforcement officer they are responding to some type of call. Code 3's (the most serious calls) are sometimes responded to without emergency lights on for one reason or another.

Hey liberals,
We completely agree on the radio thing! There is nothing I hate more than pulling up to a red light when the idiot next to me has his radio so loud that his bass is shaking my car. I think it should be legal to pull out a gun and shoot his radio at times like this!!!!

This is absurd. It is like they just want to piss us all off. It doesn't give them an advantage to catching speeders. It just pisses everyone off. I hate the OCSO.
