Beach Bay Realty opened on Chincoteague several weeks ago. Owner and principal broker Angie Abell is a native of the island and has been involved in the real-estate business for 13 years.

Chincoteague entered the 1900s in the midst of political turmoil. Its first try at incorporation had been approved by the General Assembly in 1900, and then repealed a year later with much disagreement and numerous allegations of forged petition signatures.

The 84th annual Chincoteague Volunteer Fireman's Carnival will open tomorrow, Thurs-day, July 2, at 7 p.m. It will be open on Friday and Saturday, with fireworks at 10 p.m., and reopen July 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and Aug.
