And what does her age and sex have to do with it. The column should read that the motorcycle was struck by another vehicle.

What are the chances that this 17yr old girl was on her cell phone? Or doing something else distracting while she was driving? When you put a 17yr old behind the wheel of a 2 1/2 ton deadly weapon going 35-50 mph you are asking for trouble. Her age and sex is most definately an issue.

I agree about the age. The article is stating a fact about a 17 year old girl driving a vehicle that killed an innocent woman. Age does play a factor in this case. The teenager was behind the wheel(a 17 year older)lacking the experience. I'm sorry to say that teenagers can't react as quickly. I think that they should raise the age on teenagers being able to get their license. Way too many teenagers are doing things that they should not be doing: changing the radio station, texting, talking on the phone, and speeding because they think that it is cool. I have seen my share of teenagers passing me on the road going way too fast and wrapping themselves around a tree, because that lost control of their car. You have to be in control of your vehicle at all times. It only takes a blink of an eye for things to go wrong. A loved one was taken away from this family by one simple mistake. My heart goes out to the family that lost their loved one. Respect other people on the road especially those on motorcycles.

I agree that age is important, but also that is important is that this same 17 year old had just wrecked and totaled another suv, less then one month before this accident, and in the area where this wreck happened, within a few hundred feet, there was a carwash fund raiser going on with kids from the same school district as this young driver, its scary to know (and we have all done this in our younger days) that teenagers feel indistructable, the it will never happen to me, and to know now that all this young girl has to think about is NOW "WHATS" GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME, and look whats happen because of me.
