Man dead after fleeing police into Mobile County creek

A man died Friday night after jumping into a creek to try to elude police in Mobile County, authorities said. Chickasaw Public Safety Chief Michael McLean said in a press release that police got a call at 4:37 p.m. Friday about a vehicle stranded on the north-bound side of Interstate 65 near mile marker 12. Police arrived to find several occupants in the vehicle and determined that the owner, Crook, had several active warrants, including a felony warrant for a parole violation.
