it is sad, but a few months ago i was looking to get a new cat so my kids and i went to animal welfare to look. Before I could even see the cats i had to fill out a pile of paper work, the staff was rude and not at all helpful, acting like we were bothering them wanting to look around. Perhaps better customer service would boost adoptions

This is true people in that place are very rude. The kennels are also very filthy, they talk about people abusing dogs, this is the most disgusting shelter I have ever been to. Before someone says it's because they are understaffed with volunteers, I beg to differ. I seen atleast 5 people just standing around, one even shouted "This is so disgusting I am not cleaning up this ****".

Paws is a really great shelter. Its in the city and they have alot of different breeds. Not just Pit Bulls (which can be great dogs but are not right for everyone.) The service is a total 180 from you get at Animal Welfare. They actually are happy you are getting a dog and are helpful. Animal Welfare just acts like your inconviencing them.

Your totally right about paws, got a dog from there about a year ago, I went to animal welfare first, because its in the neighborhood, but they were very rude to me, your right they act like its a huge inconvience you want to adopt a dog, the paws staff was very helpful and friendly. Its too bad for the dogs stuck at animal welfare, they would have a better chance of finding a home if the people there actually cared
