Muffin And Bear Help Kids Cope
“This has been absolutely wonderful”
William McDonald is a good-looking, 16-year-old sophomore at Middletown High School who struggles to cope in a complex world. He speaks haltingly, or in spurts. His mind wanders. Sometimes he can participate in class. Sometimes he can't. For the last five Wednesday evenings, he and eight other teenagers with special needs have worked to train two spirited dogs, Muffin and Bear, to run an agility course inside a room at Spencer School.
