Previously convicted felon in Chesapeake sentenced for firearm possession

A Chesapeake man was sentenced to 8 years in prison on Wednesday for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. According to court documents, 34-year-old Steven Akeem Nichols was found by a Chesapeake police officer sitting in the driver's seat of his car asleep with a 9mm handgun resting between his legs in October 2017.
