Monday was a pivotal day of testimony in the Gary Lamont Hayes murder trial. Hayes took the stand and admitted that he was drunk when he pumped three slugs from a .12-gauge shotgun into Odell Foster in the early morning hours of April 26, 2008, outside the Bayside Restaurant in Havelock.
