"Ginzler says it's important for people in the community and officials to work together to make the changes that will meet the needs of the aging demographic."

Profound. Did he travel far for this meeting?

I wonder what this fellow`s salary history is? I could learn that quote.

For the AARP's support for the health care legislation, he can get back in his limo and head north. I'd send my membership with him, but I already canceled that. You should see the palatial digs they've got in DC. It's almost obscene.

The AARP is supporting the healthcare legislation because the legislation eliminates Medicare Advantage which results in people having to go to others for the Medicare supplemental...which AARP sells. Remember, AARP was started by Prudential. They are not an advocate for senior citizens, they are out to make money. How else could you explain why they would support a bill that has $500 billion in Medicare cuts?

So where are the anti-big business loud mouths now?? They probably had a deal cut in the same room as AARP. I felt a long time ago that AARP was moving away from their original model to the sell-out mode. Wake up you old farts (I'm one too) & take a look at AMERICAN SENIORS ASSOCIATION. Socialized medicine DOES NOT WORK !

I agree, except I think the original model was a cover for the hidden goal of acquiring power, via membership and dues, which I have never paid nor will I, to make money for the "insiders".

My cynicism is my hedge against naivete (which is much more costly). I advise a healthy dose of cynicism for everyone.
