More than 150 friends, family and community members came to pay their respects at Crouch Funeral Home in North East Monday to Kami Ring, the 10-year-old Cecil County girl who was found murdered last week in a field near a Port Deposit home.

Investigators from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit have charged an acquaintance of a 10-year-old Cecil County girl in connection with her death earlier this week.

Girl found dead near Port Deposit The body of 10-year-old Kami Ring, who had been reported missing, was found near Port Deposit on Monday, Maryland State Police said.

She was reported missing Monday morning and police scoured the area near her grandparents' home for several hours before discovering the body Richard Madden Jr., 29, who lives at the home where Kami Ring was staying before her death, was charged with possession of marijuana and cocaine on Tuesday night.
