Hiwasee River Heritage Center opens, expansion plans already are under way
CHARLESTON, Tenn. - On Friday, the Hiwassee River Heritage Center - the product of the Charleston-Calhoun-Hiwassee Historical Society's two-year journey to create a site dedicated to preserving the region's history and culture - held its grand opening.
Hiwassee River Heritage Center Opens Friday
A special ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of Phase 1 of the Hiwassee River Heritage Center will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday with an open house until 6 p.m. The overall three-part plan is expected to be complete in approximately five years.
