I am sick of Boeing blaming IAM and SPEEA for problems of thier own creation. Can anybody with a brain really believe that a 57 day strike put the 787 program 2 years behind schedual ?? The strike occurred because Boeing wanted it to happen. This gave their subcontractors time to catch up on parts deliveries that were way behind schedual. The contract that we accepted, could have been offered at the onset of negociations and it would have likely been accepted. it wqas boeings choice to offer a garbage contract, adopt a "take it or leave it" attitude and refuse to negociate in good faith (yes, they made an appearance at the negociating table but had no intention of negociating). The idiocy of Boeing management created this situation. Now they are trying to use as a union busting tool and are doing it with the help of the media. For some ununderstandable reason, our union refuses to use the media to our advantage. i am very pessimistic regardig the outlook for this situation.

The union is trying (at this point in time) to help the company out of it's sad situation. This is the reason you do not see a lot of company bashing going on by the union leadership. There is a very clear problem with the leadership and direction of the company and they are doing desperate things. There needs to be some stabilization and normalcy for a few years for this company to succeed. If the company does not succeed the union is totally out of business.
I know it is hard to watch, but there are executives making bad decisions right now and trying to find a scapegoat. We all know it is not the unions fault that the 787 business model is not working. It is paramount to some of the uppermost leadership to find an excuse and this might buy them enough time to retire gracefully or be stealthily placed in other jobs.
The union will never give up it's right to strike, the company knows this. It is appalling that any elected official would ever consider mentioning this to the media (political suicide).
Things will stabilize and worst case scenario is that we have two strong 787 lines. Naturally, they will both be union sooner or later.

Daily Horoscope for December 6

Taurus

If you gave up over what happened yesterday, you stand a better chance of sorting things out today. Talking to the person who failed to go for the teamwork may help to get a grip on the situation, especially if you manage to avoid recriminations or accusations. Instead, do your best to be as understanding and compassionate as possible. Or just let it go.
