Elderly Woman Injured After Train, Car Collide
An elderly woman is recovering from injuries today after her car and a train collided this morning in Washington County.
The accident happened around 10:15 a.m. at the 8th Street crossing in Charleroi.
Officials say the flashing lights were on and the warning bars were down to restrict drivers from crossing the tracks.
According to Charleroi police, for unknown reasons, the woman, Dorothy Burt, 89, of Charleroi, went around the warning arm.
That's when the train hit into the passenger side of Burt's car.
