Frigid air was expected to pour into the Great Lakes and Northeast on Sunday, instigating scattered lake effect snow throughout the Upper Midwest. Snow was also possible in New England.
In the Northwest, a Pacific storm system was expected to slam into the coast, delivering rain to much of the region and snow to the higher elevations of the Cascades.
Rain and thunderstorms were forecast for the Southern Plains, especially in Texas, as a small low pressure system moves into the area. Most of this precipitation was expected to end by the evening. Read more
