Chadds Ford Double Murder Suspect Committed

A man accused of murdering an elderly Chadds Ford couple was committed to a state hospital after a Delaware County court determined he was unfit to stand trial Thursday.

Walter Rosengarth, 68, was charged in the deaths of 81-year-olds Miles and Mary Warner in December 2002.

It was previously determined that Rosengarth, who worked as handyman for the couple, is a paranoid schizophrenic. He confessed to shooting the Warners because he believed they had been poisoning his coffee.

A judge ruled he will be held at Norristown State Hospital for 60 days of treatment. Read more
