DA: Bay Shore woman stole $500G from elderly man
Lisa Ferkovich was arrested in front of her home on Brandish Lane in Bay Shore. She was charged with third-degree grand larceny as a hate crime after she allegedly stole about $500,000 from an elderly man, District Attorney Thomas Spota said.

Northport doctor charged with illegal oxycodone distribution
Dr. Carmine Mandarano, who practices in East Islip, surrendered Thursday to Drug Enforcement Administration agents following a months-long investigation and is accused of writing hundreds of patient prescriptions for oxycodone pills, as well as other controlled substances, "without a legitimate medical purpose," according to a federal complaint.
