Accused thief used rock to smash his way into tobacco shop, authorities say
A 41-year-old north Jefferson County man has been arrested and charged in a break-in at a Clay tobacco shop after lawmen say he tried to smash his way inside by using a large rock. He is charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief, said Chief Deputy Randy Christian.
